Motorcycle Essentials, company history

Imagine a cold winter morning in 2002 and the sound of two enduro motorbikes, crashing and thrashing around. In amongst all this motorcycle mayhem; Justin and Milo had an idea, a flash of inspiration, and a question.

"Why don't we open a bike shop?"

The idea was simple, to open a friendly well stocked motorcycle shop in a convenient location. Stocked with brands that we would personally use, an excellent range of quality leather and textile motorcycle clothing and a good range of quality motorcycle accessories. Indulging in our passion for motorcycles we also added a small range of performance motorcycle parts we would happily fit to our bikes.

With all this positive energy flowing we located a suitable unit in Cannock, Staffordshire and with the help of many friends and family and potential customers; we fitted out the unit and turned it into our retail shop. This was the beginning of Motorcycle Essentials.

Using Justin's vast knowledge about the motorcycle industry built up from over ten years experience in the trade; and his business relationships with various suppliers, we started to source products. This was not easy as the suppliers needed to be convinced another motorcycle shop in the area would work and they would not be wasting their time and stock.

After a lot of hard work and convincing we had a good stock profile and a range of motorcycle clothing, motorcycle accessories and motorcycle products we were proud of.

We now had a Motorcycle Shop and we were open for business!

We have always strived to have a friendly atmosphere in our shop. Building up a friendly social meeting place where you can drink a coffee, engage in motorcycle conversations and purchase motorcycle clothing, products and accessories.

In 2004 Milo decided to leave the partnership he had formed with Justin to pursue other business activities. This was a sad departure as Justin had lost Milo as a business partner but had now gained Milo as a customer. Today Milo can be found frequently visiting the shop, having a coffee and browsing our excellent range of motorcycle products that he originally helped create.

Over the years since Milo has left we have continued to build on our strong supplier relationships, grow our customer base and importantly provide a friendly social environment for bikers to meet have a coffee and a chat.

As a business today we continue to expanded our range of motorcycle products and embrace leading manufacturers. This allows us to continue to meet the demands and requirements of our customers.

We have recently expanded our team at Motorcycle Essentials with a much needed injection of female blood, and welcome Rachel the newest member of our team.
